Volunteer in Sierra Leone

We are looking for volunteers who have a love for children and want to help build a future for Sierra Leone.

You do not need to have specialist qualifications. All we ask is that you are willing to give at least two weeks of your time and in return you will receive the experience of a lifetime.

We offer a discounted price for graduates and career breakers wanting to get involved in International Development. We are also able to offer you a minimum 4 week placement at a discounted price if you have qualifications such as PGCE, Social Work (or equivalent), Nursing, etc. Please contact us (info@thegodlingtonfoundation.com) to find out more.

Facts and Requirements

· Project Location: Grafton, Sierra Leone

· Activities: Providing general care and assistance in looking after the children

· Working hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm

· Requirements: 18 years+

· Accommodation: Safe house near NCN-Orphanage

· Food: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

· Support: Pre-departure support and local 24 hour contacts

· Travel: Visas, flights

· Airport collection. You will be met and welcomed by a staff member from the NCN Orphanage.

· Cost: £599 not including travel, £1,650 including travel

Internship Opportunity

Our internship scheme provides an excellent opportunity to get involved with The Godlington Foundation, working with our staff on a variety of projects and events.

You will provide vital administrative support whilst gaining hands-on experience with national and international development within The Godlington Foundation. The position suits a motivated and resourceful individual looking to gain experience in the following:

· Fundraising

· Research

· Marketing and communications

· Operations management

· International project development

This position is based in London and is two days a week for a minimum of three months, or 2-4 consecutive working weeks of your choice. It is a voluntary position, however we pay for a reasonable transportation and lunch allowance.
